The College was established in the year 1983 by Late Prof. Raghunath Pd. Sharma. Late Prof. R.P.Sharma valiantly nurtured this institution with personal care and foresight. Under his imaginative, dynamic and able guidance the college made immense progress in last four decades. At present R.P.S. Mahila College in considered as one of the prestigious and reputed institutions under the jurisdiction of Patliputra University.
R.P.S. Mahila College is an important constituent of Patna Education Development Trust, which is the biggest Educational Trust in Bihar. The Patna Educational Development Trust was set up by Late Prof. R.P. Sharma with the sole and pious goal of promoting the cause of real and meaningful education in the educationally backward State of Bihar.
Since its inception the college is progressing with each passing year in its mission to provide education at all levels, disciplines of modern times and in the futuristic and emerging frontier areas of knowledge, learning and research; to develop the overall personality of students by making them not only excellent professionals but also a good individual with understanding and regard for human values. To have pride in their heritage and culture with the sense of right and wrong, yearning for perfection and imbibe attributes for courage of conviction and action.
To foster all round development of students by widening their vision, making them lifelong learners and to make the students realise their roles in serving the cause of social justice and to contribute their share in the national development.
The college is conducting many activities throughout the year, to provide for a holistic development of students. The primary objective of the institution has been to impart quality education parallel to skill enhancement. In lieu of which different activities are conducted to enhance the overall capability of students.
RPS as a educational group has been devoted towards providing quality education for the last four decades and serving the society. Our college is a pioneer of the educational group that is working towards providing quality education amongst women and working towards women empowerment as it is excellently quoted by Sir Nelson Mandela that “ Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.
